LCF places high importance on supporting the public schools of the Costa Alegre region. We continuously work to make funds available to the schools for educational projects. When funds are unavailable, we assist them in finding other funding sources. LCF, in collaboration with www.visitlamanzanilla.com, publishes a wish list for each school, so people who wish to donate supplies can see what their current needs are. Donors may drop off supplies at La Catalina Foundation’s office, located at #199 Playa Dorada, or we can arrange for donors to bring their donations to the schools.
La Catalina Foundation has the tradition of putting together gift bags each year for the dedicated La Manzanilla public school staff. The bags are gifted to pre-school, primary school, middle school, and high school teachers, as well as the administrators and support staff the first week of January. These bags will include small items for their classroom or personal items and are a way for the community to express our appreciation for their hard work with our local youth.
